Exciting news! Yesterday my wee little blog reached a major milestone, — 10,000 hits!! In the blog world, 10,000 total hits is peanuts. Major bloggers get that many in a month. But, for me, 10,000 hits is huge, and marks eight months of dedication and effort.
When I started this blog, I was so excited at the prospect of creating, publishing, and just getting my philosophy out there. But constantly there was a niggling little question in the back of my mind. “Am I really going to stay with this? Or is this a novelty that’s going to lose my interest in a month?” I was sincerely worried that I’d either run out of ideas or things to say, or, heavens to Betsy, get tired of talking out food. Not so! I am happy to report that the annoying little doubting voice is gone, and the ideas just keep on coming.
Thanks to all who read this regularly, who make comments, or email me separately to let me know how much you like it. While I do love writing it, knowing that people enjoy it is the biggest kick for me!
How to celebrate? I was going to post a video clip here — nothing fancy, just something from this summer while I was goofing around with some frozen meatballs. However, my blog site won’t support much in the way of videos without charging me for a $59 upgrade, so i settled for putting it up on Facebook. It is just 7 seconds of me actually juggling 🙂 Sorry you can’t see it here, but it is apropos for this momentous occasion, considering the juggling it requires to fit blogging into my life and that of my family.
Now to start thinking about how to celebrate 25,000 hits!!! Ideas??

Congrats Julia that is so awesome!!! What a great feeling huh!! My head is constantly coming up with ideas on how I can get more views….or how to get people to comment, I’m getting the views but I can’t seem to get people to leave comments!! I also have challenges, not that I’ve gotten anyone to particpate in them but it was fun and it’s during the time when I get A LOT of views. I had a Crockpot one, starting in Jan I’m doing a 28 day health challenge. Themes are great too!!! Good Luck and keep up the great work!!!

look at all your posts….which have had the most comments? what was different about them? stick with that theme – when people comment they also tend to share….also…could one day a week be a special topic (meals under 30 minutes, chicken day, meals for kids, a no dairy meal…..whatever)
Personally, I would love to see more of your nutrition knowledge….for example a post about pizza being a vegetable (WTH?!??!!) or other hot nutrition topics would gather more people….but if you keep it to recipes only it will still grow:) people seem to love it! way to go julie!!!!

Thanks, Jen, all great ideas. Just need the time to explore them! When nutrition topics strike a chord with me (i.e., the whole concept of Blue zones and living to 100) I invest some time and post something. Your idea about having a theme one day each week is great, will have to mull that one over. Thanks for the support!
